The ADCAN awards is free to enter and invites unsigned filmmakers and animators to answer one of the live charity briefs. It's a chance for creatives to gain valuable access to industry leaders, for charities to get content to promote their cause and for the film and animation industries to find new talent.

The brief was to create a seamless way in which the organisation of the Adcan Awards could manage a large amount of film submissions from a unique platform, that would take the whole process, from submission to final selection.

Submission Form

The first part of the project included the design of a submissions form for anyone to be able to submit a film to the competition. On one side, the filmmaker could include their film details, which is the central part of the competition, and on the other side, their own personal details. Several states were designed for the form, to take into account several moments of the submission process, from an empty form, to having errors displayed on the fields, as well as an error page for 404 o 503 errors and a success page, for successfully submitted applications.

On the films details section, filmmakers could submit several documents, including agreements and and release forms, so one of the big challenges was to design a form that would cater for just one document or over 100 documents (depending on the film), as seen below.

The filmmaker can upload as many documents as wanted, and the list will stretch. A loading indicator was added to show progress on larger files, and a delete option to get rid of unwanted documents.

Admin Platform

The second part of the project involved the creation of a managing dashboard allowing Adcan admin members, judges of the competition and charities to view and manage the candidates. Those three types of users had, each one, a different type of permissions, with Adcan admins seeing everything, judges seeing the everything except the filmmakers details and charities only seeing the films submitted for their specific brief.

-Dropdown to select and filter by charities.

-Columns to allow filtering by filmmaker/film name/charity/date of submission.

-Login for three different users

-Paginations and search functionality.
