Building the FIFA 18 Effect, meant working with 3D assets and animated sequences that had to be optimised from the very beginning, in order to make the developing process more effective. We needed to manipulate the 3D objects to ensure the rotation was correct and to provide a smooth transition between scenes. One of the main concerns was to make sure the elements in the scene wouldn’t cover the user’s whole face, which it was solved by facing them outside the screen or positioning them around the face.
Further work included, as well, the design of the effect logo.
